YOUNG AUTHOR AT SHARJAH BOOK FAIR 2025

We are proud to share that Huda Juwairiah of Grade 5E (Primary Girls Section) successfully launched her short story “The Peace Ambassador” at the Sharjah International Book Fair on 16th November 2025.

On 16th November 2025, the Sharjah International Book Fair, one of the region’s most prestigious literary events, served as a platform to celebrate young authors and emerging literary talent.

As part of this event, the short story “The Peace Ambassador” was officially launched. The story is featured in a children’s anthology comprising multiple short stories authored by young writers under the guidance of Vmentors, an educational edutech organization that supports creative writing and skill development among school students.

ARAB ENVIRONMENT DAY 2025-2026

The Arab Environment Day was observed on 16th October 2025 from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. in the classrooms for primary girls of Grades 3 to 5, with a total of 570 students participating. An awareness video was created by our junior house prefects followed by a quiz. The quiz activity was organized by our USST faculties, Mrs. Bushra Ambalakkuth and Mr. Safeer Salahudeen under the guidance of our Section Head, Mrs. Sajeena Moosakutty.

The quiz and the video aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation, sustainability, and the UAE’s green initiatives. Students enthusiastically participated in various quiz rounds focused on recycling, renewable energy, and global environmental challenges. The event helped students understand the importance of protecting nature and encouraged them to adopt eco-friendly habits. It promoted teamwork, critical thinking, and moral values like responsibility and respect for the environment. The quiz was linked with Science, Geography, English, and Islamic Studies, reinforcing cross-curricular learning.

CARE FOR ENVIRONMENT – AIR ACTIVITY- 2025-2026

The “Care for Environment – AIR” activity was conducted on 30th September 2025 at the Primary Section Girls Block to raise awareness about the importance of clean air and encourage eco-friendly habits among students.

Students from Grades 3–5 actively participated, creating colourful charts, posters, and banners on the theme “Clean Air – Fresh Future.” Creative slogans, meaningful pledges, and a pledge wall allowed students to express their commitment to reducing air pollution and protecting the environment.

HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATION 2025-2026

Hindi Diwas was celebrated on 15th September 2025 in the Primary Girls Section for Grades 3 to 5. The celebration aimed to make students aware of the importance of the Hindi language. Various engaging activities were organized by our Hindi department under the able guidance of our Section Head, including poetry recitation by Grade 3 students, vocabulary building by Grade 4 and poster making by Grade 5 students. The event highlighted the beauty and richness of Hindi as India’s national language. Students learned about the significance of Hindi Diwas and its annual celebration in India. The activities helped them appreciate the cultural and linguistic heritage of the country. The celebration also linked with Moral Education, emphasizing the value of respect. Connections were made with Environmental Studies and real-life applications of language in communication and culture. Teachers observed that students participated with enthusiasm and pride. The event successfully promoted love for the Hindi language and encouraged its daily use.

INTER HOUSE ENGLISH CHORAL RECITATION COMPETITION 2025-2026

The Primary Girls Interhouse English Choral Recitation Competition 2025–2026 was held on 28th October 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Auditorium, Abu Dhabi Indian School, Muroor. The event aimed to enhance students’ confidence, expression, and teamwork through the art of choral poetry recitation.

A total of 60 students from Grades III–V participated, with 15 students from each house presenting poems with rhythm, clarity, and emotion. The competition was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Sajeena Moosakutty (Head of Section) and supported by all Primary Girls’ teachers.

MILAD-UN-NABI OBSERVATION 2025-2026

The Prophet Muhammed’s (PBUH) Birthday Celebration was held on 5th September 2025 for Grades 3 to 5 in the Primary Girls Block. A total of 564 students participated enthusiastically in the classroom activity under the guidance of Islamic teacher, Mrs. Basma Osman. To mark this holy occasion, students made greeting cards and listened to the Seerah of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) narrated during the assembly. The activity aimed to help students understand the Prophet’s message of peace, compassion, and moral values. It revived Islamic teachings and encouraged students to follow the Prophet’s example in their daily lives. The event linked with Art, USST, and EVS, promoting creativity and cultural identity. It also reinforced values of respect, compassion, and belonging under the UAE’s National Identity framework. Students reflected on the importance of kindness and community harmony. Teachers noted that the objectives were successfully achieved. The activity beautifully combined learning, faith, and creativity.

QIRAAT AND ARABIC READ ALOUD COMPETITION 2025-2026

The Qira’at and Arabic Read Aloud Competition was held on Thursday, 17th April 2025, in the Primary Girls’ Auditorium for Grades 3 to 5.
The event aimed to strengthen students’ ability to learn, memorize, and recite the Holy Qur’an with accuracy and devotion. It also encouraged them to appreciate the Arabic language and use it confidently in their daily lives. Students showcased their diverse talents in recitation, memorization, and interpretation of Quranic verses.

ROYAL SPELL BEE COMPETITION – 2025

The Primary Girls Royal Spell Bee Competition was held on 4th November 2025 at the Counselling Lab, Senior Boys Block. The event aimed to enhance spelling, vocabulary, and language skills among students while fostering confidence, discipline, and healthy competition.

Students from Grades 3, 4, and 5 participated enthusiastically under the guidance of the English Department, demonstrating remarkable preparation, focus, and communication skills. Participants were provided with study materials in advance, allowing ample time for practice and revision.

The competition comprised three engaging rounds: a dictation round, a written round featuring word unscrambling and meaning-based activities, and an oral round, where contestants confidently spelled challenging words.

UAE FLAG DAY CELEBRATION – 2025–2026

The Primary Girls Section (Grades III–V) celebrated UAE Flag Day on 7th November 2025 with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit in their respective classrooms. The celebration aimed to instill love and respect for the UAE national flag while helping students understand the symbolic meaning of its colours.

Students actively participated in creative and meaningful activities designed at different grade levels. Grade 3 students created beautiful UAE flag mosaics under the theme “My Beautiful Flag.” Grade 4 students took part in “The Flag Speaks,” writing imaginative pieces that personified the flag and expressed national pride. Grade 5 students showcased their creativity through acrostic poems and slogans on “Colours of My Country.”

WORLD OZONE DAY 2025-26

World Ozone Day was observed on 16th September 2025 in the Primary Girls Section for Grades 3 to 5. The event aimed to motivate students to protect the ozone layer and promote the reduction and recycling of waste materials. Students participated enthusiastically, showing great love and respect for the environment. Each grade was engaged in a creative, hands-on activity to mark the occasion. Grade 3 students made colourful headgears on the theme “Save Ozone – Save Earth.” Grade 4 students designed creative placards titled Ozone – A Natural Umbrella. Grade 5 students created a Green Pledge Wall and an Ozone Protection Tree to express their commitment. They also conducted research on the UAE’s sustainability efforts. The activities were coordinated by Mrs. Raeeza Anish, Mrs. Pratima Awasthi, Mrs. Rekha Nair, Mrs. Supriya Das, and Mrs. Bhrigu Malhotra under the guidance of our Section Head, Mrs. Sajeena Moosakutty. Students thoroughly enjoyed the event and learned the importance of protecting the planet. The celebration successfully inspired them to take part in more environmental initiatives in the future.

INAUGURATION OF WRESTLING ACTIVITY

Abu Dhabi Indian School proudly inaugurated Wrestling as a new sporting activity in collaboration with the UAE Wrestling Federation.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Yaser Alqubaisi, Director – Sports Development & Technical Affairs Department, UAE Wrestling Federation, and the Board of Governors including Mr. Sarvotham Shetty, Sports Committee Coordinator, Mrs. Saloni Saraogi, Member (Indian Ladies Association) and Dr. Rishikesh Padegaonkar, Principal, marking a significant step in expanding the school’s sports curriculum.

GCC EXHIBITION FOR TRAINING & EDUCATION 2025-2026

The Grade 11 students of Abu Dhabi Indian School showcased their enthusiasm and commitment during the GCC Exhibition for Training & Education – Vista Drone Exhibition, held at Etihad Arena, Mussafah. Guided and volunteered by Mrs. Binila Balakrishnan (Robotics Teacher – Middle Girls Section) and             Ms. Anupama Elizabeth Thiruvinal (Robotics Teacher – Middle Boys Section), the event mainly aimed to provide students with the opportunity to serve as volunteers and exhibitors for Vista Drone Company.

Learner thoroughly enjoyed creating clay models using the given themes and showed great creativity in their work. They used their hands and imagination to bring their ideas to life with shapes and colours.

They exhibited a variety of creative clay models based on the themes. Their work reflected imagination, cultural awareness, and skill in shaping and colouring.

WORLD HEART DAY 2025-2026

In recognition of World Heart Day, Abu Dhabi Indian School organized a comprehensive health checkup for staff members on September 16th, 2025 from Life Line Hospital.  This initiative aimed to promote cardiovascular health awareness and encourage staff members of ADIS to prioritize their wellbeing. 

  • Identify potential risk factors of cardiovascular disease. 
  • Encourage staff to adapt healthy lifestyle habits. 
  • To align with health standards – global initiative to reduce the cardiovascular disease related issues. 

 LLH hospital gave personalized guidance and recommendation. Referrals given based on the screening report. 

The screening program highlighted the importance of prioritizing health and well-being in the workplace, commitment to staff welfare and health promotion.

OZONE DAY ACTIVITY 2025-2026

World Ozone Day was observed with great enthusiasm by the Primary Boys of ADIS on Tuesday, 16th September 2025, to spread awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer. The celebration began during the homeroom period, where the students engaged in creative activities
such as preparing placards, posters, and other visual displays carrying meaningful messages about the need to safeguard the environment.
