In the Science Stream, one of our girls by name RUSHALI GRANDHE SIVA PRADSADA RAO secured 97.6% and is placed in the UAE Topper list- 3rd The second position in the Science stream is shared by AMRUT PRABHU JAGADISH with 97.2% and the third position was shared by THOMAS MANAKALHIL PHILIP and RHIBHU BATTACHARJEE ASHIS with 97%.

In the Commerce Stream, one of our girls by name MADEEHA ZIYA SHAMSI secured 95%. The second position in the Commerce stream is shared by CLEAVEN JOSEPH CRASTA WITH with 94.8% and the third position was shared by KAVYA SRIDHAR SUNDARAM with 94%.



Farewell for Mr. V. K Mathu was held on 6th October 2015 in the school auditorium. Dr. B. R Shetty, BOG members and the entire ADIS staff graced this occasion. Headmistress, Mrs. Rashida Khatoon’s farewell was held was held on 25th January, 2016. and Principal, Mr. N. C Vijayachandra’s farewell was held on Monday, 25th April 2016 at 4.00pm in the school auditorium. Dr. B. R Shetty, Hon. Chairman to the Board of Governors and other members of the Board of Governors along with Mr. V. K Mathu and the entire staff of ADIS attended the function.


Six inspectors for various subjects along with the Lead Inspector inspected our school from 11 October 2015 to 14 October 2015 and a half day pre inspection took place on 7 October 2015 and we have received the Inspection Report with Band “B”. Various workshops were also conducted by the Vice Principals across the school for 350 teachers to face the Inspection with confidence and clarity.


Extended Transport facility for students residing at Mussafah Transport was initiated from 1st September 2015. A big thank you to the Management of ADIS.


We have 4 students who have been conferred with the Sharjah Award for the year 2015 – 2016. The winners are : Afreen Nizam , Deepak Satheeshan,Aishwarya Ganesh Ram & Rithu Rajesh.

Hamdan Award for the year 2015 – 2016. The winners are as follows:Abishek Dharshan , Arpandeep Katua , Aniketh Srinivasa Kini , Meghna Manoj Kumar, Nasrin Sakkir Ali Akbar, Navami Krishna , Nirja Kumar, Kayal Jeyaseelan and Hannah Syed.

This would not have been achieved without the continuous guidance and support rendered by the Ministry of Education, Abu Education Council, School Management, Staff and Parents. Thank you very much.


Under the “Sustainable School Initiative – Lead School Award (SILVER CATEGORY)”, we have been awarded with a cash prize of AED 30,000 by the ENVIORNMENT AGENCY, ABU DHABI for the second consecutive year.


Sanju George Oommen and Vysakh Jayagopal, both of them from Grade 12 have set a Guiness World Record in Video game racing. “The fastest lap of Laguna Seca by a team of 2 in Gran TUrismo 5”. This feat was achieved at Virgin Megastore, Yas Mall. The record involves a team of 2 members sharing two controls.

Sanju had the accelerator and brakes while Vysakh had the steering controls. They beat the previous record of 1min 38 seconds by the renowned UK You Tubers Callux and KSI by 10.51 seconds.

Their current record is 1min 28.51seconds.

They will have their names enrolled in the next edition of the Guiness World book to be published in 2017.


CBSE National Meet:

In the CBSE National Athletic Meet, U14 Girls won the Gold Medal for 4 x 100m relay.

In the CBSE U19 National Badminton Championship, Abhishek Darshan, Assistant Head Boy has won the Bronze Medal.


The Interschool CBSE UAE Cluster Swimming Championship was held at the Millennium School, Dubai on 3rd & 4th October 2015 our school won the overall third place. We got 7 Gold, 5 Silver & 12 Bronze medals.

Our students participated at the UAE Cluster Swimming Competition which was organized by the Millennium School, Dubai on 3rd & 4th October 2015. 15 students (boys & Girls) qualified for the Nationals which was held at Meerut between 18th & 21st November 2015.

CBSE National Swimming Result:

The following students qualified for the Finals:
Sankalp Bangera (400mts & 1500mts Free Style),Rahul Sharma (50mts Butterfly Stroke),Joel Biju Ukken (50mts Breast Stroke)
Aishwarya Ganesh Ram (800mts, 400mts Free Style and 200mts Butterfly stroke)


DPS, Sharjah organized CBSE UAE Cluster Football Tournament from 10th to 15th October 2015. 32 teams participated and our team secured 2nd place and qualified for the Nationals.


U14 & U19 Boys & Girls participated in the UAE Cluster tennis Tournament which was organized by the Indian High School, Dubai on 18th & 19th October 2015. Our U14 Girls’ Team qualified for the Nationals. This is the first time a Tennis Team from our school qualified for the Nationals.

In the Tennis championship organised by the India Club Dubai held on 18 & 19 October 2015, 8 girls participated under U14 category and won the championship.

4 girls qualified to represent UAE in the National Tennis Championship.


Our school organized the CBSE UAE Cluster Badminton on 4th & 5th November 2015. 22 schools from all over UAE participated. Our U19 Boys Team qualified for the Our mixed team comprising of Abhishek Darshan, Assistant Head Boy has won the Bronze Medal.


Springdale School, Dubai organised the CBSE UAE Cluster Chess Championship on 14th & 15th November 2015. 6 Teams (U10, U14 & U19- Boys & Girls) from our school participated and 5 teams qualified for the Nationals. Our school team got the overall Championship Trophy at the UAE Cluster.

Kho- Kho:

First time Kho Kho was introduced in the UAE Cluster. Indian School, Ras Al Khaimah organised the UAE Cluster Kho- Kho Competition on 18th & 19th November 2015. Our Girls Kho- Kho Team came first and qualified for the National.


Inter School Sports Meet organized by ADIS:

The Inter School Athletic Meet was conducted on 10 November 2015 for Girls and for the Boys on 12 November 2015. Total 21 schools participated in this event and the Overall Trophy was won by Abu Dhabi Indian School.

The Indian High School, Dubai organised the CBSE UAE Cluster Athletic Meet on 16th December & 17th December 2015. 27 students (15 Boys & 12 Girls) qualified from our school and participated at the National Meet which was held at Raipur, India between 26th & 30th December 2015.

ISC Open Athletic Meet & KSC Athletic Meet & Malayalee Samajam Sports meet:

Our school encourages our students to participate in the above events. Every year we win the Overall Championship Trophy for the above Competitions.

UAE NSL Sports 3600 Cricket:

In the under 13 category, we are the semi finalists and in the under 15 category, we are the runners up.Under 14 & Under 16 Boys are taking part in the UAE Exchange Cricket Tournament which is an ongoing event.


A grand function was organized on 29th April 2016, at Operatives Village, Yas Island under the Patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development. To honor laborers on the occasion of all International Laborers Day. The laborers were honored with certificates and gifts. Questions pertaining to the U.A.E and its culture were posed to the members of the labor camp and the winners were awarded.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan inaugurated the Mural “All together in the Emirates of Zayed” presented by ADIS to the labourers. We are grateful to our former Chairman Mr. Mohan Jashanmal for being instrumental in involving ADIS in this social venture. Dr. B.R. Shetty Chairman, BOG received the certificate for ADIS from His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

The program presented by ADIS was prepared and staged under the able guidance of Mrs. Mary Mathew, the Headmistress and Ms. May Hamdi, the Arabic supervisor, ADIS. Mrs. Mary Mathew also anchored the entire program and was a pillar of support for students and teachers alike in the successful presentation of the show. The ADIS troupe presented colorful items like traditional cup song reflecting the culture of the U.A.E; dance from the middle boys, group song by senior boys as well as the U.A.E national anthem by Junior boys. The celebration was indeed a spectacular success.

Walk for a Cause:

Etihad Airways organized the Walk for A Cause, a charity event on 18th March 2016 at the Mushrif Central Park, Abu Dhabi. Around 600 students from our school participated.Our school got a special award (a crystal trophy) for the maximum number of students participation.

Zayed Marathon:

Some of our students and teachers participated in the Zayed Marathon (a charity event) on 19th March 2016 at the Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and they were awarded certificates.


Rangoli Gulf:

In the Rangoli Gulf Season 5, 78 schools across UAE participated in the event. Abu Dhabi Indian School secured the over all First position among the 12 Finalist schools and also declared as the Winner of the Rangoli Gulf Season 5.

ADIS also won the prize for the Best Music Team.

Abhijit Anil Kumar was the best male singer and Aditya Mani was the Master Star of Rangoli.

The Prizes were announced and distributed on the Grand Finale function held at the Gems Modern Academy, Dubai on Friday, 13 May 2016 by the legendary music composer and singer of Bollywood Shri. Bappi Lahari.

Our children brought laurels to the school by participating and winning in various competitions such as Abu Dhabi Leadership Speech competition, Inter-Shool Quiz Competitions conducted by various schools.

44th UAE National Day Celebrations:

UAE National Day was celebrated on a grand scale in the school premises on 26 November 2015 from 8.30am with hoisting of the UAE National flag followed by a series of cultural programs in the school auditorium.

The Indian Constitution Day – Preamble Pledge on 26 November 2015 was conducted in the school assembly as per CBSE.

UAE Flag Day was celebrated and Martyr’s Day were observed as per ADEC directives.


The 16th Convocation was held for the outgoing Grade XII students on 18th February 2016 at 5.00pm in the school auditorium and Dr. B. R Shetty, Hon. Chairman, Padmashree Recipient was the Chief Guest and other board of Governors attended the program. The students received the blessings from the Board of Governors and from the parent community as well.

Training Programme / workshop attended by the staff:

Our teachers have attended various workshops/seminars organized by ADEC, CBSE, HAAD and other government agencies across UAE and the same information was disseminated to all the teachers and students concerned across the school.

CPD workshop on the modifications to be made in the Lesson Plan was conducted by Vice Principals for three days for various sections in September 2015 as part of a regular practice. A short video library was initiated to promote best teaching practices across the school.


The Counseling cell of the school headed by Ms. Veena Raghwa organized several career talks and fairs during the year and invited universities from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and UAE to showcase their courses, admission criteria, scholarship etc. to students of grade 11 and 12 with a view to help them make an informed decision about their higher education. As parents play an important role in making decisions about their children’s education, Career Guidance Seminars was organized for parents and students of grade 9 and 10 to help them learn about various higher education options, Entrance exams and admission process in different countries. Approximately 1800 parents and students benefitted from these seminars. Students from grade 7 to 10 participated in aptitude, personality, interest and intelligence testing to help them select the study stream best suited to them. Our school was selected by ADEC to participate in International Education Surveys, like, PISA and PIRLS. The graduating class of 2015 made us very proud when students from our school were selected by universities like UCLA, University of Michigan, Cornell University, which are ranked in the top 20 universities in the world.

Safety & Security :

The school has a large EHS Team comprising of teachers and SLT who are given given responsibilities to take of the children at all times. Child Safety Policies are being followed at the school and maximum precautions are being taken to avoid any accidents and mishaps.

Attendance Registers with a list of students who are using the School Transport is being maintained by the transport staff to mark the attendance of the child and when the child boards and gets off the bus. Once the trips are completed, the Security in-charge and Assistant Transport in-charge will lphysically check each and every bus thoroughly to ensure that no child or student is left in the bus and acknowledge the same in the Log Book provided everyday at the end of each trip and the same is intimated to the Principal through an SMS that buses are checked and everything is clear. Besides, when the children leave the classrooms, our office boys and girls designated for this purpose check all the class rooms and wash rooms to ensure that no child is left in the school campus and the Vice Principals will check the Registers everyday after it has been countersigned by the Section Heads. This is a proof that the safety and security of the child is taken care of the maximum extent possible.

Dignitaries attending the school: 

H.H. Sheikh Mubarak Al Nahyan & the Indian Ambassador H.E Mr. Sitaram graced the 1st International Yoga Day held in Abu Dhabi Indian School, on 21st June 2015.

New Initiatives:

Inauguration of the Library:

The new Library for the Junior Boys and Junior Girls were inaugurated on 3rd September 2015.

Investiture Ceremony for ADIS UAE national identity Ambassador & Asst. Ambassadors was conducted on 9 September 2015.

Networking Project of Phase 1 and Phase 2 is completed. Now all the class rooms have the access to the Internet. (Total 200 points). Phase 2 and 3 of the project where installation of Servers was involved has also been completed.

Different Club were initiated across the school such as Transition Club, Q-matter, Canvas, to name a few.

Shifting process from Digital Campus to Mograsys has been completed with all the data regarding student and staff information, Fees and Finance date have been successfully migrated to the new system and the Parent Portal and the Mobile App of ADIS has also been launched recently and the new school website is also ready to use.
