Goodwill Ambassador Club

What:

* Club named “GOOD WILL AMBASSADORS

* Comprising students from GRADE 6 to GRADE 12

Vision:

* To tap students’ potential and channelize in right direction.
* To develop thinking, critical, analytical and creative skills.
* To provide platform to share experiences through interaction and spread awareness about culture, religious belief and traditions of UAE .
* To train members for public speaking .

Mission:

  • Share the culture, traditions and religious belief of UAE through speeches, presentations etc.  in school assemblies and events.
  • Encourage the students to participate in activities related to charity.
  •  Carry out awareness campaign related to the culture, festivals and traditions of UAE.

Reports

Objectives:

  • To Raise Awareness About (Islamic Values) Ramadan And Its Celebration In UAE and Importance Of Sadaqah And Kindness.
  • To Encourage Students To Participate In Charity Events

How:
The students from grade 1 to 12 volunteered to donate new clothes and toys for children under 12 years of age. These clothes and toys were donated at The Galleria Mall, Abu Dhabi where Ramadan drive was organised for Emirates Red crescent.

Activity 1: At the Galleria Mall

Date : May 25,2017
Activity: Distribution of charts by Goodwill Ambassadors Club to all classes ( Grade 6 to 12)

Objective : To raise awareness about( Islamic values)Ramadan and its celebration in UAE.

How :
All the Islamic students of grade 10 prepared charts on “Ramadan : The Blessed Month And Its Celebration In UAE “and were distributed to the monitors of all the classes from grade 6 to 12. These charts were then put outside the respective classes to raise awareness about Ramadan and Islamic values.

Activity 2: Ramadan Chart Making Competition

Date: May 27, 2017

Activity: Ramadan chart making competition.

Objective : To raise awareness about( Islamic values)Ramadan and its celebration in UAE.

How:
The Islamic students of grade 10 prepared charts on the theme “Ramadan And Its Celebration in UAE”. Around 40 students participated and from them 8 were shortlisted and then finally first three best charts were selected.

Activity 3: “Joy Of Giving”

Date: June 09-2017

Venue: All classrooms (Grade 1 to 12) & school corridors.

Participants: All students of Grade 1 to 12.

Objective:

  1. To mark the “YEAR OF GIVING” (2017-18) as announced by the govt. of UAE.
  2. To introduce the national values of tolerance, harmony, coexistence in society, love of country we reside in, and sense of belonging and loyalty.
  3. To create awareness about the incessant approach of UAE and its contributions to give without expecting in returns since its establishment by founding its fathers.
  4. To educate students about the importance of volunteering and making a difference in the society or nation or in an individual’s life.
  5. To create a link between the “YEAR OF GIVING” and “THE MONTH OF GIVING, SHARING AND CARING” i.e. RAMADAN.

Event:

The event “Joy of Giving” was organised by the Goodwill Ambassadors Club on 09/06/2017 during the “First Parent Teachers Meeting.”

How:

All the students from grade 1 to 12 made a handmade item e.g. cards, posters, jewelry, canvas paintings etc. and gave to the visiting parents and students during the “First Parent Teachers Meeting.”. The tables to display the items were beautifully laid by the students in their respective classrooms and school corridors and the students volunteered to give the items to the visiting parents.

Activity 4: Distributing Pamphlets

Date: June 09,2017

Venue:  School Corridors.

Participants:  Students of grade 10 to 12.

Objective:

  1. To mark the “YEAR OF GIVING”.

Event:

The event “Joy of Giving” was organised by the Goodwill Ambassadors Club on 09/06/2017 during the “First Parent Teachers Meeting“. On that day students spoke with visiting parents about Year of giving, Ramadan and its celebration in UAE.

How:

Students from grade 1 to 12 distributed pamphlet on Year of Giving and importance of sadaqah in Islam.

Ramadan and code of conduct to be observed during this month.

Learning Outcome:

  1. The event was a grand success with good parent feedback.
  2. The students learnt the importance of volunteering and internalized the concept of “Year of Giving.” And the month of giving i.e. Ramadan.
  3. Parents were involved in this activity.
  4. Creativity and communication skills of the students were showcased and appreciated.

Ramadan presentation put up by students during open house on June 9th 2107 for parents to create awareness about Ramadan and its observance in UAE.
